The storms have also taken a toll on the Cape. This beach was very wide and at low tide had a sand bar that everyone walked out to. Now the beach is in two strips. What was the sand bar at low tide is now a beach with water separating it from the original beach. At low tide you can walk out to it with the water being about 2 feet at the deepest point. But at high tide the water gets up to about 5 feet deep making it difficult for people who don’t want to get completely wet from getting back.
