Shooting photos in the middle of the day in bright sunshine is very challenging because of the wide dynamic range of light. It is difficult to capture a pleasing photo because of the bright highlights and dark shadows. The camera sensor cannot capture the range of light in one exposure, so you usually have to decide if you want to capture detail in the highlights or in the shadows. One solution to solve this issue is to shoot HRD (high dynamic range), where you shoot multiple exposures to capture the total dynamic range and then compose the multiple images digitally. An easier solution is to just look for a different subject to shoot in one shot, like this shadow on these concrete steps.
